Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross’ collegiate career began with such promise, as he was a dominant force as a freshman for Dabo Swinney’s program. Unfortunately, he suffered a major injury that kept him on the shelf for the entire 2020 season.
Ross needed surgery in the summer of 2020 to repair a congenital fusion in his spine. Many people questioned if he’d be able to return to the gridiron again.
Last week, Ross made his return to Clemson’s lineup for the first time since 2019. He wasn’t able to make much of an impact though since Georgia’s defense put so much pressure on Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. This Saturday, however, Ross proved that he’s still capable of being a dynamic player for the Tigers.
During the first quarter of the Clemson-South Carolina State game, Ross caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Uiagalelei.

As you’d expect, college football fans are thrilled to see Ross making plays for the Tigers once again.
“Justyn Ross scores his first touchdown since the 2019 ACC Championship,” a Clemson fan tweeted. “There was a full calendar year where nobody knew if he’d ever play football again. So happy for #8.”

Even if you’re not a fan of the Clemson Tigers, you can’t help but root for Justyn Ross.
With the first half of action between Clemson and South Carolina State almost in the books, Ross has three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.
