Clemson needed a spark in the first quarter of this Saturday’s game against UConn. Surprisingly, that spark came from wide receiver Will Swinney.
Swinney, the eldest of Clemson coach Dabo Swinney’s three sons, lined up as the holder for a 23-yard field goal try. To the surprise of UConn, it was actually a fake field goal attempt.
Once he received the snap, Swinney tucked the ball in and ran into the end zone for a six-yard touchdown. That score gave Clemson a 10-7 lead over UConn.
The crowd at Memorial Stadium went into a frenzy as soon as they saw Swinney take off with the football.
Here’s the touchdown from Swinney:

This must have been an awesome moment for Dabo. It’s not everyday that he gets to watch his son score a critical touchdown for his team.
As for Will, this will probably be a play that he never forgets. Coming into this game, he had 28 career receptions for 168 yards.
Ever since Swinney scored that touchdown to give the Tigers the lead, they’ve had their way with the Huskies. They currently have a 37-7 lead in the second half.
The Clemson-UConn game is currently being aired on the ACC Network.
