Shemar Stewart is one of the most sought-after recruits in the country right now, but just five schools will be in the mix moving forward.
Stewart is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman out of the state of Florida. He’s the No. 8 overall recruit and No. 3 defensive lineman in the 2022 cycle, according to the 247Sports composite. The five star has already drawn comparisons to current NFL players, one of which is Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones.
Stewart, as a result, has received offers from almost every top college football program in the nation. But just five can call themselves finalists following Thursday night’s news. Stewart announced on Twitter that he’s only considering the following: Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Texas A&M.
Take a look.

In December of 2020, Shemar Stewart announce a top 10 which also included Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, LSU and Penn State. Those schools are out of the mix.
Miami is widely considered the favorite at the moment. It’s in close proximity to his hometown and the Hurricanes continue to make noise on the recruiting trail.
“Miami is close to home,” Stewart said, via On3.com. “I have a great relationship with most of the guys on staff, as well as a lot of players on the team. It would be great to bring a national championship back to Miami.”
It sounds like the Hurricanes are in a good spot here. Will Manny Diaz score a commitment from Stewart in coming months? Stay tuned.
