The Chicago Bears Week 14 game at Lambeau Field is a showdown with playoff seeding, divisional control, and maybe the NFC’s No. 1 spot hanging in the balance. And as Chicago prepares for its biggest game of the 2025 season, one matchup towers above the rest…
Darnell Wright vs. Micah Parsons.
There have been only two seasons in NFL Next Gen Stats history in which someone has generated a 20+ QB pressure percentage despite facing a 20+ double team percentage in the same season… Micah Parsons is both of them (2023 and 2025).
But the Bears’ right tackle isn’t shying away from it. In fact, he’s calling it out.
Wright Says the Quiet Part Out Loud

When speaking with former NFL offensive lineman Terron Armstead, Wright didn’t bother with soft answers. He leaned straight into the challenge.
“It’s just a big opportunity,” Wright said. “He’s a good (expletive) player. He knows that, everybody knows that. For me, I just think it’s an opportunity to test myself and to see what I can really do. For better or worse, we’re going to play, it’s going to happen.”
It’s rare to hear a young tackle talk about Parsons, arguably the league’s most dangerous defensive player in 2025, with that kind of directness.
But ask Darnell Wright what changed, and he immediately points to one person: offensive line coach Dan Roushar.
“He was like ‘you’re already a good player, but there are some steps to make you a great player.’ … I think he instilled a little bit of confidence. I’ve never really had a coach at that level talk to me like you can be a great player.”
That belief has been clear in Darnell Wright’s play as he’s only allowed 13 pressures all season, surrendered just 1 sack, and is top-five in Pro Bowl voting among offensive tackles while anchoring the NFL’s top rushing EPA offense.
Still, Micah Parsons is a riddle that offensive coaches have yet to solve.
“He’s one of those guys you have to be aware of on every snap,” offensive coordinator Declan Doyle said. “He’s slippery, he’s a great pass rusher. They’ll move him around.”
That’s the problem (and the challenge). Parsons doesn’t stay at one spot. He’ll test Wright at right tackle. He’ll test rookie left tackle Ozzy Trapilo. And he’ll even shoot through the interior gaps looking to erase plays.
A Season-Defining Two-Game Gauntlet

The Bears don’t just see Parsons once. They see him twice in 13 days, first in Lambeau this Sunday, then again in Week 16 at Soldier Field.
Two games that could determine:
- The NFC North
- Home-field advantage
- The Bears’ path to the playoffs
- And Wright’s case for his first Pro Bowl
This week Darnell Wright’s evolution as a franchise tackle crashes headfirst into the league’s most explosive pass rusher. Micah Parsons is coming. And Darnell Wright is ready.
“It’s going to be big,” Wright said. “These big huge games. It’s going to be a challenge, but that’s what it is. That’s the fun part.”
