SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WNCN) — Duke football is looking to build off the momentum from last week’s win over NC State as the Blue Devils seek their first road win of the season.
Duke (2-2 overall, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) is in Syracuse this weekend to face the Orange (3-1, 1-0). The game is set to kick off at noon at the JMA Wireless Dome.
The Blue Devils broke a two-game losing streak last weekend by defeating the Wolfpack 45-33 in Durham in an early-season rivalry game. Duke quarterback Darian Mensah threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Anderson Castle rushed into the end zone for three scores of his own in the victory.
Syracuse is coming off a 34-21 upset at Clemson last Saturday. Starting quarterback Steve Angeli had 244 passing yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game with an injury. Richie Collins came in to replace him and only threw for 34 yards, but that also included a touchdown pass of his own. Will Nixon was the sole Orange running back to find the end zone in the win at Death Valley.
Up next for the Blue Devils is a trip across the country to Berkeley. Duke and Cal are set to square off in a night game on Oct. 4.
