Hurbert Davis and UNC landed a massive commitment Wednesday when they landed five-star forward GG Jackson. A consensus top-10 prospect in his class, Jackson marks the highest-rated signing of the Davis era.
Not long after the news broke, UNC’s Caleb Love reacted to the Tar Heels latest get.
“I know they sick [right now],” the sophomore guard laughed. “Yessir lil bro!!”

Jackson chose UNC over finalists that included rival Duke. As well as: Auburn, Georgetown, South Carolina and UMass. Not to mention, the NBA’s G-League, which has increasingly become a player in recruiting five-star basketball talents.
The 6-foot-9 forward out of S.C. also reportedly received offers from reigning national champs Kansas. In addition to: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Louisville, Oregon and Syracuse to name a few.
GG explained why he chose UNC to ESPN.com:
They’ve shown from the beginning that they want me the most. I definitely see it. They’ve shown up to all my AAU games so far. And before the Final Four, they came down and visited me at the school, which was shocking. That definitely shows the dedication that they put into their recruiting.
Now Jackson joins one of the nation’s hottest programs that’s set to return four of its five starters next season.
