On Wednesday morning, one college football program decided to bring some levity – and a little panic – to its fanbase.
As the country deals with a significant health crisis, April Fools’ Day came at an interesting time. Do people still pull pranks or is this a moment to sit back and put the jokes to the side for the time being?
Well, the North Carolina football program decided the former was the route to take. North Carolina Football’s official Twitter account tweeted out a photo showing the team’s field in a new color.
“Kenan Stadium to replace synthetic grass with new Carolina Blue playing surface,” the program wrote on Twitter. A photo showed the changes the team decided to make – or did it?
Here’s the post.
Breaking: Kenan Stadium to replace synthetic grass with new Carolina Blue playing surface.

It would be quite the change for the Tar Heels to play on a Carolina Blue surface.
Fans immediately looked at the calendar and knew the program was joking. However, looking at the photo, it would be cool to see a major football program make this kind of change.
We all know Boise State plays on a blue surface and other programs around the country have unique fields as well.
Should Carolina make this change after all?
