LAS VEGAS, NV. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Summer league results may not mean much, but it’s not nothing. On Sunday, the Hornets will face the Kings in the NBA 2K26 Summer League finals after beating the Thunder on Saturday night 109-80.
Greensboro Swarm all-time leading scorer Jaylen Sims led the Hornets in Saturday night’s win with a game-high 25 points, shooting 10/14 from the field and 4/6 from three.
Charlotte’s fourth overall pick, Kon Kneuppel, is averaging 14.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, fellow first-round rookie Liam McNeely is leading the team in points and rebounds per game with 18 and 8.5, respectively.
2024 second-round pick KJ Simpson is right behind McNeely, averaging 17 points per game, and leads the Hornets in assists at 5.8 per game.
Since the start of this summer league format, this is the Hornets’ first time in the playoffs, let alone the final round. The Hornets and the Kings are both 5-0 in this year’s summer league.
Sunday’s final against the Sacramento Kings will start at 10 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN.
