Earlier today, the Charlotte Hornets inked guard Terry Rozier to a lucrative contract extension. He’ll be paired with LaMelo Ball in the backcourt for the next few seasons.
Rozier, who is due $17.9 million this upcoming season, agreed to a four-year, $97 million max contract with Charlotte today. This is the second time he’s earned big money from the Hornets, who acquired Rozier in a sign-and-trade with the Boston Celtics in 2019 for the price of $56.7 million over three years.
Ball, who won NBA Rookie of the Year, this past season, definitely seems excited to keep working alongside Rozier.
His celebratory reaction to the news can be seen below.

Last season, Rozier started 69 games for Charlotte, averaging career-highs in points (20.4), assists (4.2) and steals (1.3) per game, as well as field goal percentage (.450).
The Hornets finished 33-39 and in 10th place in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Indiana Pacers in the play-in tournament.
