The Hurricanes look to make it a 6-0-0 start to the season tonight when the Bruins come to town.
The Hurricanes continue their four-game homestand with a visit from the Boston Bruins on Thursday night, as this group looks to become the first team in Carolina franchise history to start a season 6-0-0.
The last time these two teams met was in the Toronto playoff bubble last year, when the Bruins dispatched the Canes in five games. The Canes’ last regular-season game against the Bruins came on Dec. 3, 2019, a 2-0 loss in Boston.
The Canes’ two biggest stars up front, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov, enter tonight’s game with at least a point in every game this season after scoring against the Maple Leafs Monday.
Speaking of Monday’s game, it looks like Rod Brind’Amour will go with a mantra of, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, as he’s sticking with the same lines that closed out that one, meaning the SAT reunion is here to stay for at least another night, and Frederik Andersen will look to extend the start of his Hurricanes career to 6-0.
Here’s how Carolina will line up for this one:
Andrei Svechnikov – Sebastian Aho – Teuvo Teravainen
Jesperi Kotkaniemi – Vincent Trocheck – Martin Necas
Nino Niederreiter – Jordan Staal – Jesper Fast
Steven Lorentz – Derek Stepan – Jordan Martinook
Jaccob Slavin – Ethan Bear
Brady Skjei – Brett Pesce
Ian Cole – Tony DeAngelo
Frederik Andersen
Antti Raanta
The Bruins are coming off a 4-1 loss in Florida Tuesday night, so did not hold a morning skate Wednesday. Here’s how Boston lineup up in that game:
Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – David Pastrnak
Taylor Hall – Jack Studnicka – Charlie Coyle
Jake DeBrusk – Erik Haula – Karson Kuhlman
Trent Frederic – Tomas Nosek – Curtis Lazar
Matt Grzelcyk – Charlie McAvoy
Mike Reilly – Brandon Carlo
Derek Forbort – Connor Clifton
Linus Ullmark
Jeremy Swayman
