3 Teams Showing The Most Interest In Malik Willis

Malik Willis on the field for Liberty.

Most analysts have Liberty’s Malik Willis graded as the top quarterback available in the 2022 NFL Draft. Though he’s expected to be a first-round pick this Thursday night, no one knows which team will select him.

Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze was on NFL Network this Thursday to discuss Willis’ outlook for this evening. Even he admit that he’s unsure where Willis will land.

“I usually have an idea, but I have no clue on what’s really going to happen tonight,” Freeze said.

Freeze did mention which teams have shown the most interest in Willis. The Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks have all contacted Willis during this draft process.

Carolina currently owns sixth pick in the first round. Perhaps the Panthers’ front office will consider taking Willis at that spot.

If not, Willis could end up slipping to the Seahawks with the ninth pick.

Willis finished his final season at Liberty with 2,857 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes. He also had 878 yards and 13 scores on the ground.

There’s no question Willis has the potential to be a playmaker in the NFL. What really matters though is that he ends up in the right system.

We’ll find out this week where Malik Willis’ pro football career will begin.
