History
The Steelers are the Panthers’ most frequent opponent in preseason franchise history. They’ve met up in each of the last 17 preseasons, with 21 matchups overall.
Carolina is 9-12 in those games. Pittsburgh also leads the regular season series at six wins to one.
What to watch for
We’re getting some starter action, baby! And it’s going to be for more than a drive or two!
The guidelines aren’t strict, but head coach Matt Rhule is hoping to roll out who he can of his starters for around a half. That should give us a better look at what offensive coordinator Joe Brady and quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw just two balls last week against the Baltimore Ravens, are cooking up.
