With consideration for the 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame now coming up on the docket, there may (should, really) be a gold jacket awaiting Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith next summer. But forget a jacket for now, the NFL’s eighth all-time leading receiver claims he owns a Ric Flair robe!
On the latest episode of his weekly podcast, Cut To It featuring Steve Smith, 89 and co-host Gerard Littlejohn are joined by WWE superstar Charlotte Flair, the daughter of Ric. In the lead-up to the interview with the 11-time women’s champion, Smith revealed he owns one of the most prolific pieces of pro wrestling memorabilia known to man.

Flair, a record 16-time world champion, is widely regarded as the greatest performer in the history of the business, in part, for his charisma, bravado and flamboyance. His magnificent, opulent robes played a considerable role in helping craft the iconic “Nature Boy” persona.
So if Flair is the “stylin’, profilin’, limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ and dealin’ son of a gun,” does that make Smith the ball catchin’, cornerback dispatchin’, trash talkin’, end zone walkin’, L.A. pup, icin’ ’em up, son of a gun?
