Look: Things Are Getting Heated On The Panthers Sideline

November 8, 2021 by The Spun

A field level view of the Carolina Panthers stadium.

Things appear to be getting pretty heated on the Carolina Panthers sideline.

Carolina is currently getting throttled by New England, 24-6, on Sunday afternoon. It’s been a rough day for Sam Darnold, but it’s been especially tough for starting quarterback Sam Darnold.

Darnold, who was traded from New York to Carolina this offseason, has thrown three interceptions against the Patriots defense this afternoon.

It’s been an ugly day for the former Jets quarterback, who often struggled against Bill Belichick’s defenses in New York. Darnold has completed just 16 of 33 passes for 172 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions.

Following his most-recent interception, things got heated on the sideline. Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson was seen throwing his helmet in Darnold’s vicinity.

It’s unclear what happened exactly, but this didn’t look good.

Perhaps Anderson was simply trying to motivate his quarterback (whom he played with in New York, as well).

Still, this isn’t the scene you want to see if you’re a Panthers fan.

Barring a late-game comeback, the Panthers will drop to 4-5 on the season with Sunday afternoon’s loss, while the Patriots will improve to 5-4.
