When Christian McCaffrey went down with a hamstring injury in Week 3, the Carolina Panthers didn’t place their star back on the injured reserve. It was an optimistic move by the organization. Unfortunately, McCaffrey’s recovery is taking longer than expected.
The Panthers placed McCaffrey, who’s missed two straight games with a hamstring injury, on the injured reserve on Saturday. He’ll miss at least the next three games.
This is a nightmarish update for the Panthers and their fans. The Carolina offense is entirely different when McCaffrey’s on the field. In fact, the Panthers have lost both games he’s missed so far this season.
Unfortunately, McCaffrey has gotten bit by the injury bug these past few years.
Christian McCaffrey has played six games since 2019.

NFL fans are starting to get worried about Christian McCaffrey’s durability.
The former Stanford star has played in just six games since the start of the 2020 season.
“Christian McCaffrey is going to miss a good portion of a season for the second straight season,” wrote Michael Fabiano of Sports Illustrated via Twitter. “Unfortunately, the injury-prone tag now applies to him.”
Believe it or not, the trade rumors have begun. Take a look at what several NFL fans are saying about Saturday’s brutal McCaffrey news.
Honestly this Christian McCaffrey situation has been horribly mismanaged yet again.
Pushing him when he clearly isn’t ready. Blame on both sides probably but damn.

Panthers have placed Christian McCaffrey on IR. So he will miss at least the next three games. Seems like something they probably should’ve done three weeks ago in retrospect.

Christian McCaffrey will have missed 19 out of the Panthers last 25 games due to multiple injuries
Stopping holding onto 2019
He’s not CAR’s best player
He’s not the best RB in the NFL
Signing him to a monster deal was easily another mistake by this franchise

When Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey is eligible to return from injured reserve he will have missed 18 of 24 games since Matt Rhule took over the team in 2020. This also after Carolina made McCaffrey the highest paid running back in the NFL.https://t.co/s2KVCsZV7i

As great as Christian McCaffrey is, he’s played in just 6 of the last 21 games. This is the second straight year he’s missing significant time. Don’t be shocked if Carolina at least listen to offers for him in the offseason.

Without McCaffrey on the field, the Panthers will turn to rookie Chuba Hubbard and third-stringer Royce Freeman.
Carolina believes Hubbard has plenty of upside. The rookie out of Oklahoma State had 101 yards rushing against the Eagles last Sunday.
McCaffrey, meanwhile could return no sooner than Week 9 when the Panthers take on the New England Patriots.
