Warning: Your good, post-win vibes for the Carolina Panthers may take a hit after reading the following.
Or, maybe they won’t, especially if you’re not much of a betting man or woman. But if you are, you might want to get in on some of this New Orleans Saints action.
Initial odds released by Tipico Sportsbook currently have the Saints as 3-point favorites over the Panthers ahead of their Week 2 matchup. The two NFC South foes are set to face off on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET from Bank of America Stadium.
Both teams are coming off wins in their season openers from Sunday. Carolina held off a visiting New York Jets squad, 19-14, while New Orleans made an early statement with a 38-3 thrashing of the Green Bay Packers.
The recent history of this matchup is all Saints. Head coach Sean Payton and his guys are 8-1 against the Panthers over their last nine matchups, including a wild card round victory from the 2017 campaign. They won each of the past four contests while on the road in this showdown as well.
Even though quarterback Drew Brees has traded his cleats for a microphone, New Orleans still boasts one of the most talented rosters in football while Carolina is still on its rebuilding path. So, yeah, you might want to put a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ down on the visitors with that lil’ three-point spread.
