Panthers, WR Robby Anderson reportedly 'deep' in extension talks

August 22, 2021 by Panthers Wire Leave a Comment

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson walked up into Bank of America Stadium on Saturday night with a ski mask on. Now we probably know why.

According to Joseph Person of The Athletic, Anderson and the Panthers are “deep in contract talks” over a potential multi-year extension. Person notes that the deal could be completed as early as next week.

This past week, general manager Scott Fitterer told reporters that the team was close to an extension with a player he declined to name. Well, it’s Anderson and hopefully, also according to Person, fellow wideout DJ Moore is next in the queue.

Anderson turned in a career year in his first campaign for Carolina this past season, reeling in bests for receptions (95), yards (1,096), first downs (49) and catch rate (69.9 percent). The Panthers are in the “Let’s see who we want to keep” stage of their rebuilding process and Anderson, obviously, has been earmarked as one of those guys.
