Former NFL defensive tackle and current Carolina Panthers coaching assistant Terrance Knighton earned the nickname “Pot Roast” for ordering said dish on a team plane ride during his rookie season. But he may have really solidified the “Roast” part of that moniker this past Sunday.
During the Panthers’ Week 11 tilt with the Washington Football Team, Knighton was picked up by sideline cameras in the midst of a very emotional moment. And by emotional moment, we mean a full verbal beatdown of the listless Carolina defense.

The unit, which had been quite stout against the run coming into the game, allowed Washington to rush all over them for a whopping 190 yards in the 27-21 loss. They also allowed the visitors to convert on six of their 13 third-down attempts and on both of their fourth-down tries.
Knighton clearly wasn’t having any of it.
Funnily enough, Knighton is also familiar with this particular matchup at that particular venue—as he was a member of the then-Redskins in a 2015 meeting with the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. “Pot Roast” was on the other side of a complete rundown that day, as Carolina hit up the Washington defense for 44 points with 142 rushing yards.
