The Chicago Bulls hosted the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. The Clippers were riding a six-game win streak heading into the game, but the Bulls were able to shut them down in dominant fashion. After blowing out the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the Bulls tied a franchise record in their win on Tuesday.
Heading into Tuesday, Chicago’s previous record for threes made in a game was 25. They accomplished that feat twice. Once against the Memphis Grizzlies in 2024 and once against the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021. Well, the Bulls tied their franchise record with 25 made threes as they beat Los Angeles by 28 points.
Coby White knocked down a team-high six threes. Matas Buzelis, Kevin Huerter, and Ayo Dosunmu each made four.
With the win, Chicago moves to 21-22 on the season and 14-9 at the United Center. Still, the team is looking at a Play-In game, while also putting themselves in the middle of trade talks.
Bulls Are in Play-In Game Purgatory

The Bulls have been in the Play-In picture for the past three seasons. In all three years, Chicago has fallen to the Miami Heat. The last time the Bulls played in the first round of the playoffs was in 2022, and they were beaten 4-1 by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Chicago is officially over halfway done with the season, and it looks like they will be right back in the Play-In games. After the win on Tuesday, the Bulls sit in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. That would have them host a Play-In game, but then travel to either the seven or eight-seed for a second Play-In matchup.
The good news is that there is time to turn the year around. Hovering around .500, the Bulls are just four games back from the third-place team.
Bulls Will Be Active Before NBA Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline is February 5th. That leaves just a few weeks for the Bulls to make a move. Whether it is improving the team or finding a way to prepare for the future, Chicago is expected to be active.
Coby White is a player who has been at the center of trade conversations all year. He started the season injured, but has been very effective when healthy. Over the last two games, White is 13-for-21 from three-point range. He has put up 27 and 24 points in each of those games, respectively.
White’s contract is up at the end of the season, so it would make sense to see the Bulls part ways with him. Still, Chicago’s front office will not let him go cheaply. The Bulls are hoping to get a solid return for their former first-round pick and will not let him go easily.
The Bulls are also in talks with the Pelicans for Zion Williamson. Trading for a player with Williamson’s talent proves the Bulls are also willing to make a winning move. The team is not too far behind in the playoff race, and they can still make their way out of the Play-In games. But they have to start stringing together some wins.
No matter the case, expect Chicago to be active before the February 5th deadline.
