The search for a new offensive coordinator continues for the Los Angeles Chargers after parting ways with the former OC, Greg Roman.
Los Angeles started the search for a new offensive playcaller with two internal interviews.
Pass game coordinator Marcus Brady and quarterbacks coach Shane Day were the first two to get an interview with the Chargers in hopes of getting a promotion.
The Bolts will have former head coaches interview for the job, including Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll. LA has already interviewed Brian Callahan, former Titans head coach, for the vacant offensive coordinator job.
With the recent coaching staff changes, Justin Herbert will have a fifth different OC in his professional career in just seven seasons.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, two more names have been reported for the Chargers job.

Ian Rapoport reported that the Los Angeles Chargers have requested the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, for the offensive coordinator role.
Smith was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for three seasons before being the OC for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the last two seasons.
The Steelers’ offense was one of the better scoring offenses this season, with soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers standing behind the center.
Pittsburgh averaged 23.4 points per game, the 15th-best in the league this season, which is a slight increase from the 2024 season, when the offense recorded an average of 22.4 points per game, the 16th-best.
Both the pass and run game were in the bottom half of the league in the 2025-26 season. The pass game was the sixth-worst in the 2024 season, while the run game ranked 11th-best in the NFL, averaging 127.2 rushing yards per game.
A down season for the Steelers’ offense, but it could switch with a change of scenery and having Justin Herbert as his quarterback.
Super Bowl Winning Coach Gets Requested

Ian Rapoport revealed the second person requested for the Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator role is New England Patriots pass game coordinator and tight ends coach Thomas Brown.
Pats QB Drake Maye has seen a major bump in development in his second season, with part of the credit going to Brown.
Maye’s 4,392 passing yards and 31 pass touchdowns this season were the fourth-highest and third-highest in the league, respectively.
New England also had the second-best scoring offense, averaging 28.8 points per game, with some credit also going to the running game.
Brown has experience as an offensive coordinator, previously holding the role for the Carolina Panthers during the 2023 season and most recently for the Chicago Bears in 2024, before being named interim head coach.
The pass game coordinator was a member of the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl-winning team in the 2021 season when he was the team’s assistant head coach and running backs coach.
New England is currently on its way to the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos. If the pass game can have a good game against a strong Broncos defense, it could help cement Brown as a frontrunner for an offensive coordinator job.
With more interviews happening, the Bolts will need to decide who will be the right option to help lead LA past the AFC wildcard.
