Clemson and Georgia just kicked off in their season opener in Atlanta, but the beef between the two schools has been simmering for the last few days.
On Friday, Clemson radio play-by-play announcer Don Munson stirred things up during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Full Ride with Rick Neuheisel and Chris Childers.
While discussing life for college athletes off the field, Munson took a broadside shot at Georgia football’s academic performance.
“Their graduation rate was at 41 percent,” Munson said. “And I will keep on saying this, that’s an embarrassment. That’s an embarrassment to folks at Athens, that’s an embarrassment to the university, that’s an embarrassment to the program. They need to do better than that.”

Clemson and Georgia have competed on the field since the late 1800s and regularly battle for recruits off it, so it’s not a shock Munson would want to emphasize an area where the Tigers have an advantage.
Still, Clemson’s superior football graduation rate can only comfort fans so much as Georgia continues to establish itself as the premier program in college football. The Bulldogs have put distance between themselves and the Tigers over the last three years, winning a pair of national championships.
