The New York Yankees face the Toronto Blue Jays for the first time since last October’s American League Division Series at 1 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida. Yankees right-hander Will Warren is scheduled to start, while 6-foot-7 right-hander Grant Rogers takes the mound for the Blue Jays.
The Yankees vs. Blue Jays spring training game will be carried on national TV in the United States, as well as in Canada. The MLB Network will broadcast the game live. Fans should check their local cable, satellite or over-the-top streaming apps for the channel that carries MLB Network. The game will be the eighth of 76 spring training games broadcast on nationwide TV by the network, and second time they have broadcast a Yankees game this spring.
In Canada, the subscription-based network Sportsnet will carry the game on television, as well as live streaming online.
Live streaming of the game will also be available in the U.S. but requires a subscription. A subscription to MLB+ costs $59.99 for the season and includes MLB Network as well as âlive audio for all 30 teams (no blackouts), live MiLB games and MLB Big Inning.â
The game is also available with an MLB.TV subscription for $149.99 for the season, and includes all out-of-market MLB games plus all available spring training games. The MLB.TV subscription also comes with MLB Network, live audio of every game, minor league games streamed live and MLB Big Inning as well.
For fans who can’t get to a TV and do not have an MLB.TV subscription to watch a live stream, MLB.com covers the game pitch-by-pitch on its Gameday page.
What Time Is Yankees vs. Blue Jays and Where Is It Played?
The game begins at 1 p.m. Eastern time, 10 a.m. Pacific time, at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida, the Blue Jays’ spring training home. The Grapefruit League contest marks another early look at roster battles as both clubs ramp up toward the regular season.
The Yankees are 2-2 in Grapefruit League play. The Blue Jays are 1-2 after dropping a 4-3 decision to the New York Mets Monday at TD Ballpark. José BerrÃos, the Toronto pitcher most frequently mentioned in trade rumors, got the start for the Blue Jays, lasting 2 2/3 innings, giving up two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
The Yankees on Monday cruised past the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2. Designated hitter Ben Rice appeared to be in mid-season form, driving in two runs on two hits in three at-bats with a walk.
Will Warren vs. Grant Rogers: Starting Pitching Matchup
The Blue Jays will get their first look of the spring at 24-year-old righty Grant Rogers, rated the No. 22 prospect in their system overall by FanGraphs.
Drafted in the 11th round by the Blue Jays in 2023 out of McNeese State for a $150,000 signing bonus, Rogers strikes an imposing figure on the mound, but reaches only about 95 mph on his four-seam fastball. His wide-ranging repertoire also includes a splitter, sinker, slider, changeup and cutter.
Warren started 33 games for the Yankees in his rookie season last year, posting a 4.44 ERA with 171 strikeouts in 162 1/3 innings. Tuesday’s game will be his first outing of the spring.
