Jets Receive Game Changing News Post-NFL Trade Deadline

November 7, 2025 by Heavy

The New York Jets lost a lot of talent at the 2025 NFL trade deadline.

However, they will be getting some talent back for their Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson was a full participant in practice on Friday.

Brian Costello of the New York Post wrote on social media that Wilson “is expected” to play against the Browns.

The Jets Offense Will Get a Much Needed Spark

Wilson was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee. However, head coach Aaron Glenn said he felt good about the direction things were heading. On the Jets’ final injury report, Wilson was officially listed as “questionable” for the game.

“Anytime you get a player of that magnitude back, it always helps your team. I think that’s really common sense. He is one of the best in this league, so anytime you get a chance to be out there with the rest of the guys helps us as an offense,” Coach Glenn explained to the media on Friday, November 7.

The former Ohio State product hurt his knee during the Week 6 matchup with the Denver Broncos on October 12. With Wilson set to return on Sunday, he will have enjoyed a month away from the gridiron since his last game. Those were the first two missed games of Wilson’s NFL career.

The Rest of the Injury Report for the Jets Ahead of Week 10

Three other members of the Jets received a “questionable” injury designation ahead of the Browns game.

That group included running back Khalil Herbert, rookie linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, and offensive lineman Xavier Newman.

Herbert and Newman seem to be the most up in the air of any of the injured players. They weren’t listed with an injury designation on Wednesday, which means they got hurt between the end of practice on Wednesday and the start of practice on Thursday.

Herbert is dealing with a groin issue, and he was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. Newman is dealing with an ankle issue. He was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, and he didn’t practice on Friday.

There is better news for Mauigoa, who was a full participant in practice on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday. He is going through the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol.

Shortest Benching of All Time?

If the rookie is unable to suit up, Quincy Williams may be a part of the shortest benching in NFL history. On Monday, Williams told the media he found out that he was running with the second string.

The coaching staff informed him that he was “underperforming” and that level of play traced all the way back to training camp.

Williams was frustrated by the news, but admitted that he couldn’t be “angry” at the decision because the coaching staff told him what he needed to improve on.

The former first-team All-Pro had one hell of a week. He got sent to the bench, and his younger brother Quinnen Williams was shipped off in a blockbuster deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
