Joe Burrow and Bengals Get Great News After Cardinals Win

December 28, 2025 by Heavy

The Cincinnati Bengals improved to 6-10 as they beat the Arizona Cardinals 37-14. Quarterback Joe Burrow led the way as he went 24-for-31 for 305 passing yards and two touchdowns. Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase ended his eight-game scoring drought as he scored twice in the win.

Regarding Chase’s drought, head coach Zac Taylor said “I really wasn’t aware of (Chase’s touchdown drought) until Tee (Higgins) pointed it out in the last game, during the game.” Ja’Marr Chase said “I didn’t even know what celebration I wanted to do, that’s how I know I haven’t been in there in a minute.”

Defensively, the Bengals allowed their fewest points all season as they limited the Cardinals offense to only 14 points. Arizona’s second touchdown occurred with less than two minutes remaining, with the game out of hand.

Joe Burrow’s Big Game

During the game, Joe Burrow tied Andy Dalton with 28 games of over 300 passing yards. Burrow is now tied with Dalton for the most 300-yard games in Bengals history. Perhaps most impressive is the fact Burrow achieved that feat in 57 fewer starts than Andy Dalton. In the regular season finale, Burrow will have a chance of standing alone atop the Bengals leaderboard as head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that Burrow will start.

Burrow improved to 5-2 when starting this season. Including next week, his seven total starts will mark the fewest of his career. In the Bengals’ back-to-back wins, Burrow has a 77.7% completion percentage with 614 passing yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. The most impressive play of the day came when Burrow threw to offensive lineman Cody Ford, who went for 21 yards on the reception.

When asked about his connection with Ja’Marr Chase, Burrow said “I don’t see any other receivers in the league that get the attention that he does.” Chase is ten receptions shy from matching his career-best of 127 receptions he set in the 2024 season. He doubted his ability from doing so, saying “I ain’t getting that this year.” His 117 receptions are second in the NFL this year, behind only Arizona tight end Trey McBride, who had ten receptions in the loss against the Bengals

Bengals Upcoming Game

Next up, the Cincinnati Bengals will finish the regular season against the 4-12 Cleveland Browns. All eyes will be on star pass-rusher Myles Garrett who is one sack away from setting the NFL record for sacks in a season. The two teams last faced off in Week 1, when the starting quarterback for the Browns was Joe Flacco, who is now Burrow’s backup. In their previous matchup Myles Garrett registered two sacks as the Bengals won 17-16.

Starting for the Browns will be rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has gone 2-4 as a starter with seven touchdowns and ten interceptions. Meanwhile, the Bengals will look to finish the season on a three-game win streak. They are now 4-1 when Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are all active. All three are expected to be available for Cincinnati’s regular season finale.
