Three Chargers Predicted To Make All-Pro Teams

October 2, 2025 by Heavy

The NFL season is at the quarter mark for the 2025 NFL season, with analysts and writers releasing their end-of-year predictions.

Sports Illustrated has released its early All-Pro team predictions for the first and second teams, with multiple Los Angeles Chargers players being featured: two on offense and a single player on defense.

The Chargers are off to a strong start to the season with a 3-1 record thanks to strong performances from these players.

Quentin Johnston

First up for the LA Chargers is wide receiver Quentin Johnston, who is predicted to make the NFL All-Pro first team.

Johnston had a strong start to the 2025 NFL season with 98 receiving yards and a touchdown in the season opener.

“Johnston is finally delivering on the promise that made him a first-round pick in 2023 from TCU. The Chargers lead the AFC West at 3–1, and Johnston is a significant reason why, with 22 catches and 337 yards, which ranks third,” Matt Verderame wrote for Sports Illustrated.

The former TCU Horned Frog’s 337 receiving yards are the third-highest in the league and his four touchdowns are tied for the third-most in the league.

Joe Alt

Offensive lineman Joe Alt was off to a hot start defending quarterback Justin Herbert before suffering an ankle injury in the Week 4 loss to the New York Giants.

According to Pro Football Focus, Alt currently has an 81.5 overall grade (the fifth highest of qualifying tackles) and an 87.1 pass block grade (the fourth highest in the league).

“Alt has also done an admirable job at left tackle, protecting Justin Herbert’s blindside after Rashawn Slater tore his patellar tendon this summer. In four games there, Alt has posted the fourth-highest grade of all tackles before sustaining a high ankle sprain on Sunday against the Giants,” Verderame wrote.

Alt is currently listed as doubtful for the Chargers’ Week 5 game. Verderame currently has Alt as a second-team All-Pro player after four games.

“I don’t want to speculate on the degree, but likely not to play this week, and we’ll take it day by day,” Harbaugh said.

Derwin James

Four-time All-Pro safety Derwin James is predicted to get one more All-Pro nod this season.

James has 1.5 sacks, 34 tackles and 2 pass deflections for the Chargers. If the LA defender continues to put up these performances, James could have multiple career highs.

“As usual, James belongs at the top of the chart for safeties. He’s doing it all for the Chargers, racking up 1.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and a pair of passes defensed,” Verderman wrote for SI.

The safety is dealing with a glute injury and was a limited participant in practice before the Week 5 matchup. James affirms that he and the team will be ready against the Washington Commanders.
