Duke’s Cooper Flagg voted consensus First Team All-American

Cooper Flagg‘s historic freshman season continues as the Blue Devil was voted as a consensus First Team All-American.

He is Duke’s first consensus First Team All-American since RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson were both awarded the honors in 2019.

The projected No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft it the only ACC player to rank in the top 10 in the ACC in all five major statistical categories, averaging 19 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game.

Flagg is the 22nd Duke player to ever be named a consensus First Team All-American and only the 10th freshman to receive All-America honors.

The 6’9 forward is expected to be one of the heavy favorites to win the Naismith Player of the Year award as Duke marches forward in the Big Dance. The Blue Devils will play their first-round matchup on Friday against the winner of American and Mount Saint Mary’s. His status for the game is still unknown after suffering an ankle injury in the ACC tournament.
