BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WNCN) — On Wednesday night, the three starting freshmen on Duke’s men’s basketball team this past season were selected in the first round of the NBA Draft, including Cooper Flag as the No. 1 overall pick.
On Thursday night, the two veteran members of the Blue Devils starting five had their turn.

Sion James, who spent his final year of college eligibility in Durham after transferring from Tulane, was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the third pick in the second round, No. 33 overall. James providing ballhandling for Duke last season as well as a solid defensive presence. The 6’5″, 218 pound Sugar Hill, Ga. native also provided some size in the backcourt for Jon Scheyer.
His backcourt mate Tyrese Proctor was picked a little later in the round by Cleveland. The Cavaliers chose the Sydney, Australia native with the No. 49 pick overall and 19th in the second round.

Proctor spent three seasons under Jon Scheyer in Durham. In his final season at Duke, he averaged 12.4 points, three rebounds and three assists in 38 games and was voted to the All-ACC Third Team. His father, Rod, played professional basketball for the Sydney Kings.
