Hailee Steinfeld Shares Exciting News During Bills Offseason

January 30, 2026 by Heavy

The Buffalo Bills are going through some major changes following their playoff elimination. After firing Sean McDermott, Josh Allen’s head coach for the past eight years, the Bills named Joe Brady as their new head coach.

Allen, who sat in on the head coaching candidates’ interviews, is intimately familiar with Brady, who’s been on the Bills staff for four years. As expected, Allen spoke to the media following Brady’s introductory press conference on January 29.

However, Allen arriving on crutches and a boot on his right foot came as a huge surprise. The 29-year-old revealed he underwent surgery to correct a fifth-metatarsal avulsion. He should recover in about eight to 10 weeks, which means he’ll be ready to go when the offseason program begins in mid-April.

In addition to recovering from surgery, Allen is preparing for the arrival of his first child with Hailee Steinfeld. The couple announced they were expecting last month. For Allen, being a dad is the most important job he’ll ever have.

“I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one,” he said.

Steinfeld showed off her baby bump while attending the 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony earlier this month, where her film, “Sinners,” won the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

While the 29-year-old actress noted in her weekly newsletter that her “social battery [was] very much at zero” following the glitzy award ceremony and after-party, Steinfeld is feeling recharged and ready socialize in a new way.

Steinfeld first launched her weekly newsletter to better connect with her fans. Ahead of what will be her 70th issue, Steinfeld announced she’s planning to launch a group chat where she can drop “extra BTS” and “go live — all the things.”

One fan commented on Instagram, “Best news I’ve heard all day!” Another person wrote, “I WASN’T PREPARED. I’M SCREAMING HERE BECAUSE I’M SO EXCITED.”

The “Dangerous” singer previously announced that she planned to do her first-ever Substack live to dish about the Golden Globes, but she last-minute cancelled the event following the Bills’ playoff loss to the Denver Broncos last week.

Fans Hope Josh Allen Joins Hailee Steinfeld at the Academy Awards

After “Sinners” became the most Oscar-nominated film of all time, Steinfeld, pending her due date, will likely attend the 98th Academy Awards in Los Angeles in March. If she goes, gans hope Allen accompanies her to this year’s award ceremony.

But first comes the NFL Honors, which takes place in San Francisco ahead of Super Bowl LX on February 5. Allen was named a finalist for the Associated Press 2025 NFL Most Valuable Player Award, which he won following the 2024-25 season. Steinfeld and Allen made their red carpet debut at the event in New Orleans last year.

Allen closed his thank-you speech with a tribute to Steinfeld. “You’ve been my rock, you are my best friend,” he said. “I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
