Josh Allen suffered a stinger Sunday afternoon on the road at the Cleveland Browns when he was forced to execute a tush push out of his own endzone to make room for the punter. He immediately hobbled to the sideline, but did not miss any game time.
Despite consistent messaging that the quarterback will be playing this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, Allen was held out of Tuesday afternoon’s walk-through practice.
Allen returned to the practice field on Wednesday for what was another extremely light practice. But despite the easy workload, he was still limited in his participation.
“Limited participation for Josh Allen in the Bills walk-thru on Wednesday,” reported ESPN’s Buffalo Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg.
The halftime X-rays came back negative, so the main ailment continues to be just general soreness for the reigning MVP.
“I mean, still sore,” Allen said. “Walk-through today, so really not practice in general. So yeah … feeling good.”
“Feeling good,” Allen said on Tuesday. “I’ll be planning on playing.”
Buffalo Bills Injury Report Piling Up
The Bills have had tough injury luck all season, so it is no surprise to see so many starters on the injury report once again. However, even with low expectations, this week’s list is concerning.
With a game against the defending Super Bowl champions just four days away, tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox did not take the field Wednesday.
Kicker Matt Prater, who’s dealing with a quad injury on his kicking leg, did not participate either. His injury is concerning enough that the Bills felt the need to host three free agent kickers for a mid-week tryout.
Defensive tackles DaQuan Jones and Jordan Phillips were both inactive with ankle injuries.
And defensive back Cam Lewis returned to practice while veteran safety Jordan Poyer missed a second straight.
