DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Duke women’s basketball is looking to keep their winning streak going as they welcome one of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s newest members to Durham Sunday afternoon.
The No. 16 Blue Devils (14-4 overall, 5-1 ACC) face the Stanford Cardinal (10-7, 2-4) for the first time as conference opponents. Tipoff at Cameron Indoor Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Duke has won their last two contests, included a rout Thursday night of Stanford’s rival and fellow team from the Bay Area, Cal. In the Blue Devils’ 72-38 win, Toby Fournier led the team with 23 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
The Cardinal are also coming off a win. On Thursday, they topped Wake Forest 74-71 in Winston-Salem. Stanford’s leading scoring in that game, Tess Heal, also came off the bench. Heal dropped 24 points on the Demon Deacons, while starter Nunu Agara also contributed 23 points.
The Blue Devils next travel to Texas to face the last of the three new ACC programs. Duke is set to play at SMU on Thursday night.
