DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Murray State baseball defeated Duke Sunday to force a decisive game, and now the two teams will face off one last time to determine who gets to make the trip to Omaha for the College World Series.
The Blue Devils (41-20) and Racers (43-15) will battle in the final game of the 2025 Durham Super Regional Monday. First pitch at Jack Coombs Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
After Duke took the first contest of the best-of-three series Saturday by a score of 7-4, the Racers came back Sunday and dominated the Blue Devils. Despite Duke hitting five home runs, Murray State — who hit four home runs of their own — won 19-9. Two players, Dom Decker and Will Vierling, each batted in four runs for the Racers, none of which came on homers. Ben Rounds and Macon Winslow led the Blue Devils with three RBI and two RBI, respectively.
The winner of Monday’s game will claim the last spot in the 2025 NCAA DI College World Series.
