Round 2 between Duke and North Carolina took place on Saturday night and it ended up being a great game.
Duke took UNC down by five, 62-57 as it swept the season series against its biggest rival. It also likely ended UNC’s hopes of getting into the NCAA Tournament unless the latter wins the ACC Tournament.
After the win, Blue Devils head coach Jon Scheyer spoke to the media and was super thrilled with how his team played.
“I can’t even tell you how proud I am of our team. It wasn’t pretty but the will to get it done was so impressive. You have to dig deep in a game like this & we did that – our players deserve all the credit,” Scheyer said.
The Blue Devils improved to 23-8 overall as they’ll be the fourth seed in the ACC Tournament this week.
The Tar Heels will be the seventh seed and get the winner of the Boston College-Louisville game.
