Rams Get Critical News About Davante Adams After Injury Exit

December 15, 2025 by Heavy

The Los Angeles Rams can breathe a sigh of relief that All-Pro and Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams did not do any further damage to his balky hamstring in their win over the Detroit Lions in Week 15.

However, the Rams are not exactly out of the woods with the six-time Pro Bowler.

The Rams are heading toward a big showdown against the NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 16, adding significance to Adams’ status.

Rams’ Davante Adams Aggravated Hamstring Injury

Adams went down in the fourth quarter of the Rams’ win, falling while trying to track a pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Rams ruled him questionable to return shortly after he exited, but he never re-entered the game.

“#Rams WR Davante Adams, who left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, is considered week-to-week, sources say,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on X on December 15. “That almost certainly knock him out for TNF, but it is simply an aggravation of what he was previously dealing with, not a new injury.”

Rapoport reiterated Adams’ timeline later, but also ramped up certainty around Week 16.

“Davante Adams, expected to miss ‘TNF,’” Rapoport said on “NFL GameDay” in a follow-up report. “A big one, he is week-to-week with a hamstring.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler corroborated the update with a report of his own, noting that his sources told him Adams “has been nursing it for a while,” noting his limited practice participation and that he will “rest with the hopes of returning soon.”

That is just further evidence that the Rams will be without Adams against the Seahawks.

Adams, who turns 33 on December 24, has 60 receptions for 789 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdown grabs this season. His presence will undoubtedly be missed if he is forced to sit out for the Rams.

Sean McVay Pessimistic About Davante Adams

Rams head coach Sean McVay said that Adams was optimistic about playing on Thursday. McVay, though, was not.

“We’ll see. He was optimistic talking to him. He knows his body really well,” McVay told reporters on December 15. “They had an East and West double, he split it, and then, just kind of came up where he felt it. So, we’ll see uh what that means. I can’t imagine that’s good for Thursday, with just the short amount of time. I certainly wouldn’t rule him out quite yet, but it didn’t look good.”

Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur could not provide any new information on Monday.

“No, I can’t truthfully,” LaFleur told reporters on December 15. “I know Sean, I think, tomorrow is going to update you guys on that, but I got nothing for you.”

LaFleur also joked that the Rams would “probably just go out with 10 guys, and just see what happens,” saying, “You guys have seen how valuable he’s been for us in so many different ways, even over the last few weeks.

“Just the amount of attention he gets in situational football, whether it be the red zone, third down. So the targets haven’t necessarily been there in the red zone as of late, but it’s because you’re not trying to force it into double or triple team. So, he’s a Hall of Famer for a reason. And he’s still playing at that high clip, and we’re just hoping for the best in terms of what’s going on down there.”

Adams has not missed any game time this season. However, his previous issues add another layer of complexity to how the Rams proceed with three games left.

First, the Rams must get past the Seahawks, with or without Adams on the field in Week 16.
