Sebastian Wilkins draws three head coaches on day one of 3SSB Session 2, updates recruitment

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA — Class of 2026 four-star power forward Sebastian Wilkins had three head coaches out to see him at Adidas 3SSB Session 2 on Friday.

Jon Scheyer of Duke, Buzz Williams of Maryland and Ryan Odom of Virginia were all courtside to watch Wilkins perform. The four-star didn’t disappoint. Wilkins finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a blowout win over Power 5.

Scheyer was accompanied by associate head coach Chris Carrawell. Maryland was four deep including Williams. Wilkins said it means a lot for those schools to show support.

“Especially since its the first day,” Wilkins said. “That just shows they believe in me and truly want me in the program.”

Both Duke and Maryland hosted Wilkins for official visits within the last month. He broke down those two trips to ZAGSBLOG:

Duke: “It’s a prestigious school. Everyone knows what Duke is, so just being there felt great. I kind of enjoyed everything.”

Favorite moment: “Probably just learning how they envision me, what impact I can make.”

Scheyer’s message: “Just that I can come in and contribute. Being versatile, I can push the ball in transition, stuff like that.”

Maryland: “I liked [the visit] a lot. I’ve grown a relationship with coach Buzz and the staff for a while now. So just learning a little bit about Maryland and seeing the campus — it was nice. I really enjoyed seeing the arena they play in, the XFINITY Center. And just learning about some of their history and the players who played for the program.”

Wilkins named Virginia as another school that’s been recruiting him hard lately.

“I’m learning a little bit more about them,” Wilkins said. “But I saw a little film of them at their previous school [VCU], and I just like how they play in transition.”

It’s been rumored that Wilkins could be a potential reclassification candidate from 2026 to 2025, which would mean he’d suit up in college basketball next season. It looks like that option is officially on the table.

“There’s definitely a chance,” Wilkins said of the reclass rumors. “It just matters what’s the best fit for me.”

While Wilkins could be going to school early, he’s still focused on winning games this summer with Mass Rivals. The four-star said his goals include winning it all and getting the guys who don’t have interest some offers. As for what he wants to show coaches?

“Just that I can bring a winning mentality,” Wilkins said. “Show that I can do whatever they need me to do on the court. Be versatile. I feel like I can really do whatever you need me to do. I feel like I can guard any position on the floor.”

Wilkins is ranked the No. 27 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports.
