RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — With just a week to go until NC State hosts East Carolina to kick off this college football season, Wolfpack fans will have several stadium enhancements to look forward to this season.
“Yeah, really excited about next week,” said Brad Brown, Senior Associate Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations.
The biggest changes will be in the Raleighwood area, located near Gate 11.
“I think it’s going to be great,” Brown explained. “I think it’s going to be a central location for folks to congregate, celebrate the Pack, relax, unwind spend time with family.”
A shade structure and TVs have been added to the popular gathering spot, while food trucks, beer stands and live entertainment will help transform the space into a sports bar-like atmosphere on game days.
“Some of the additional things that we’ve considered in this space of course is, special guests, acts, opportunities to get people to come in and take a look,” said Brown.
Pack fans can also look forward to new concessions, including a new Alpaca location, as well as revamped team stores.
A week out from State’s home opener, anticipation is building on campus.
“I mean it’s nothing more than exciting,” said senior Michael Lynch.
Lynch thinks these enhancements will add to Carter-Finley’s already electric atmosphere.
“Oh it’s amazing,” Lynch said. “The environment’s great, the people are great. Can’t wait to go tailgate and everything. The stadium’s always going to be fun.”
The contest between the Wolfpack and Pirates will kick off at 7 p.m. next Thursday. NC State will be looking to get revenge against their in-state rivals after ECU beat the Pack 26-21 in last year’s Military Bowl.
