RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After missing the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament last season — just one year removed from winning the event — North Carolina State men’s basketball is hoping to get back into the postseason.
New head coach Will Wade and his players have a 31-game regular season schedule that includes nonconference matchups against Kansas and Auburn as well as a coveted berth in the premier Thanksgiving week tournament — the Maui Invitational in Hawai’i.
NC State, who will be playing in their first-ever Maui Invitational, will open the eight-team tournament against Seton Hall on Nov. 24. The Wolfpack is guaranteed at least two more games at the Lahaina Civic Center following that, with USC and Boise State on the same side of the bracket.
Upon return to the mainland, NC State is scheduled to play at Auburn on Dec. 3 in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge. Ten days later, they’ll be the third of the Triangle teams to face Bill Self and Kansas this season as the Jayhawks travel to Raleigh for a matchup on Dec. 13.
Conference play for the Wolfpack opens on New Year’s Eve day against in-state rival Wake Forest. With the ACC reducing the number of league games this season so teams could schedule more nonconference games to help boost strength of schedule, NC State will not play in Durham or Chapel Hill this year. They will, however, host their Triangle rivals, with the UNC coming to Raleigh on Feb. 17 and Duke on March 2.
Ahead of the regular season, NC State has one exhibition game: against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Oct. 26 in Greensboro.
Here’s the full schedule for the Wolfpack for the 2025-26 season, with home games in bold.
