Getting to know Jerry “Clip” Deng
$ It’s all about the money $
The NCAA makes one rules change, and likely a second very soon, to increase revenue potential.
32-game Regular Season
Effective next season (2026-27), men’s and women’s basketball will have the option to play a 32-game regular season. The primary drivers for the change (money aside) are to better accommodate the increasingly popular multi-team events (MTE) and to encourage teams to schedule quality non-conference teams later in the season.
Expanding the NCAA Tournament?
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel the NCAA will vote on expanding the tournament within the next couple of weeks. According to most sources, the choices are a) no expansion; b) expand to 72; c) expand to 76. Currently expanding beyond 76 is not on the table.
