Tight end Justin Joly is the only NC State representative on the preseason All-ACC football team, which probably comes as a surprise to no one. Joly is an easy choice, but who are the next-most-likely State players to have All-ACC seasons? Jacarrius Peak and Brandon Cleveland?
If CJ Bailey makes a run at it then we’re in for a fun season—and two people did vote for Bailey as their preseason Player of the Year. I’m not ready to make a leap quite that large at this point, though I can feel the irrational hype increasing with each passing day.
Cade Klubnik was the runaway choice for that honor, collecting 146 of 183 votes. (Someone voted for a Boston College defensive lineman, which is certainly a choice.) And Klubnik will be pretty tough to beat if he puts up numbers similar to last season’s while Clemson rolls to the ACC championship.
