Class of 2025 linebacker Bailey Benson enrolled at Wake Forest in January, hit the portal in April, and committed to NC State today. You could just consider him an extremely delayed member of State’s ‘25 high school class. Had a flat tire out around Winston-Salem that made him a little bit late.

Benson committed to Wake last spring, prior to the coaching change there, stuck with the Deacs and went through spring ball to give the new regime a chance, so really you could laud him for his loyalty. (In hindsight, he could have saved himself the trouble of moving his stuff twice in four months, but hey.)
He’s listed at 6’1, 195 by Wake Forest and was a three-star prospect in the 2025 class. The Georgia native originally picked Wake over offers from Memphis, Cincinnati, and Kansas, among others. 247Sports rated him the No. 105 linebacker in the country.
