SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNCN) — After dominating Campbell last weekend in Raleigh, NC State football is back on the road and facing a ranked opponent for the first time this season.
The Wolfpack (4-2, 1-2) is set to play No. 16 Notre Dame (3-2) Saturday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Stadium.
In last week’s 56-10 win over the Fighting Camels, NC State’s stars led the way. Quarterback CJ Bailey passed for 337 yards and four touchdowns, completing 20 of his 23 pass attempts. On the ground, Hollywood Smothers rushed for 123 yards on just four carries and found the end zone once, while Jayden Scott had 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Notre Dame is riding a three-game winning streak into Saturday after starting the season 0-2. In their 28-7 victory over Boise State last week, CJ Carr passed for 189 yards and two touchdowns for the Fighting Irish, while running back Jeremyiah Love rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.
NC State is off next week for the first time this season. Their next game is scheduled for Oct. 25 when they travel to Pitt.
