RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After two straight losses in Atlantic Coast Conference play, NC State football is looking to get back in the win column Saturday against a nonconference team.
The Wolfpack (3-2 overall, 1-2 ACC) hosts the Campbell Fighting Camels (1-4, 1-1 Coastal Athletic Association) Saturday afternoon. The game is set to kick off at Carter-Finley Stadium at 2 p.m.
NC State is coming off a 23-21 loss to Virginia Tech in Raleigh last Saturday. Quarterback CJ Bailey threw for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 of 34 passing, while Hollywood Smothers had 67 yards on the ground for the Wolfpack in the defeat.
Campbell also lost last weekend, falling 42-35 to Western Carolina at home. Kamden Sixkiller, the Camels’ quarterback, passed for 205 yards, one touchdown and one interception, completing 18 of his 45 pass attempts. He also used his legs often, notching 55 rushing yards over 10 plays and getting into the end zone twice.
NC State has a bye week up next before traveling to South Bend for a big test against Notre Dame. The Wolfpack and Fighting Irish are scheduled to play a Saturday afternoon game at Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 11.
