RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — NC State football is looking to get back on track Saturday night after suffering their first loss of the season last weekend.
The Wolfpack (3-1 overall, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) hosts Virginia Tech (1-3, 0-0) Satruday night in the Hokies’ first ACC game of the season. Kickoff at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last Saturday, NC State made the short trip to Durham, where they lost 43-33 to Duke. Quarterback CJ Bailey had 364 yards with two touchdowns in the game, but the sophomore also threw three interceptions. Hollywood Smothers had 123 yards on the ground and found the end zone once in the Wolfpack’s first defeat of 2025.
On the other hand, Virginia Tech is coming off their first win of the season. The Hokies defeated Wofford 38-6 last weekend in Blacksburg. Kyron Drones threw for 307 yards and and accounted for four total touchdowns — two passing and two rushing — for Virginia Tech.
Next week, NC State will have a nonconference matchup as they’re set to host Campbell. That game will be played next Saturday afternoon at Carter-Finley Stadium.
