NC State football has had a productive start to the month, picking up four verbal commitments, including the first addition to its first for the 2027 class.
In-state defensive back D’Various Surratt committed on July 1 and immediately became the highest-rated player in NC State’s 2026 class. The high-three-star prospect is ranked as a top-700 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite and picked the Pack over the likes of UNC, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
Three-star defensive back Tristan Hill followed the next day, picking State over Louisville and Minnesota, among others. Hill is the third player from Georgia to join NC State’s 2026 class.
Three-star defensive end Elijah Satchell chose NC State over Stanford, Northwestern, and Kentucky on Sunday.
Class of 2027 running back Christian Freeman, who plays at Southeast Raleigh, committed on July 4, about a month after earning an offer while camping at State. It’s always nice to add a talented kid from your backyard.
State is up to 15 commitments in ‘26, though its overall class remains ranked near the bottom of the ACC. State is one of three ACC schools without a four-star commit in this cycle.
