As usual, football recruiting activity has picked up in June with the start of camp season, and NC State has added three commitments since the beginning of the month.
The first of those was Carmelo McKenzie, a consensus three-star defensive line prospect from Florida who is listed at 6’2 and 280. He has a number of other power conference offers, and is visiting both Boston College and Kansas State this month, per 247Sports.
Three-star running back Dylan McCoy, from Georgia, committed to NC State on Sunday, as did three-star safety prospect Markel Aguirre, who also happens to be from Georgia. Aguirre holds the second-highest rating in State’s ‘26 class, which is still very small.
The Pack has seven commitments for 2026, and only four ACC schools have fewer, but this is how it typically goes in the first part of the year, and I am confident that we will once again reach the Dave Doeren Recruiting Equilibrium before the cycle is said and done.
