Will Wade ain’t messing around with his first non-conference schedule at NC State. Since coming on board, he’s added a series with VCU and now, per Jon Rothstein, a series with Ole Miss that’ll be played at neutral sites.
The first of these games will be played in Greensboro on Dec. 21, with a return game somewhere closer to Ole Miss the following season. The decision to make these matchups neutral site games is a bit of a head scratcher—I doubt anyone’s thrilled about a drive to Greensboro—but hey, at least we aren’t going to San Antonio to play Tennessee.
Ole Miss was an NCAA team last season (and removed UNC from the proceedings; thanks, Ole Miss!) and figures to be one in 2026 as well. So it’s another quality test for the Pack. Kansas, Auburn, VCU, Ole Miss, and Maui, oh my. Tells us something about what he expects from his team that he’s scheduling like this, though, doesn’t it.
