RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The leader of the North Carolina State football program is slated to stick around for a couple more years.
NC State football coach Dave Doeren agreed to another contract extension that will keep him in Raleigh through the 2029 season. The details of the contract are unavailable at this time.
The NC State Board of Trustees committee approved the new deal before making the official announcement on Friday afternoon.
Doeren is entering his 12th season as head coach of the Wolfpack, tying him for the sixth-longest tenure in college football. He’s the all-time winningest coach in NC State history, notching an 81-58 overall record. Doeren has also tallied a 23-11 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play over the past four years.
During the 2023 season, Doeren led the Wolfpack to a 9-4 record, which includes winning five consecutive games to finish the regular season.
NC State is set to open the 2024 season at Carter-Finley Stadium against Western Carolina on Aug. 29.
