There’s been less movement in the portal of late because it’s a dead period, which bars in-person meetings and official visits, though that comes to a close today and things should start heating back up.
Will Wade still needs to make a bunch of additions, especially up front, and perhaps there’s good news there on the horizon. Some emergent names this week:
Jarin Stevenson (6’11, 215) — Stevenson hit the portal after two years at Alabama and did so with a a “do not contact” designation, which typically means a player has a very good idea where he’s going. In this case, NC State and UNC would appear to be the two options. Stevenson averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 boards in 2025.
Tre Carroll (6’7, 233) — Averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 boards as a junior at FAU. He’s got a number of high-major programs after him and for good reason, as he shot 56% inside the arc in 2025 with a high workload.
Tre Holloman (6’2, 185) — State is expected to get a visit from him, as will UNC, Baylor, and Villanova. He’s got plenty of experience and would be a nice add at the point.
Wes Enis (6’2, 200) — Enis averaged 20.1 points, 4.4 boards, and 3.1 assists in Division II this season playing for a school in Tennessee (dunno if geography will be a factor, since he’s already taken a visit to Minnesota). West Virginia, USF, Iowa, and DePaul are the other competitors here.
Sincere Parker (6’3, 195) — Averaged 12.2 PPG playing for Will Wade last season. I don’t know if he’ll be a serious option or not, but he merits a mention for obvious reasons.
