We haven’t talked at all about Wes Moore’s efforts in the portal thus far, so let me correct that: Fatmata Janneh! NC State is set to host Fatmata Janneh this week—she is a transfer from Saint Peter’s—and she’s awesome.
Her game is super impressive; she carried her team this year, accounted for more than a third of the shots while on the floor, and averaged 18.2 points and 11.6 boards. This is a big-time profile.
She accounted for the workload of two players at Saint Peter’s and did that when everyone knew she had to do it, game-planned against her, and still couldn’t find answers. Anyway I’m a big fan of Fatmata Janneh.
Kara Dunn and NC State have history—Wes Moore recruited her out of high school—and she has NC State on her list this time around, along with a “Do Not Contact” designation. Dunn averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 boards for Georgia Tech last season and would give State some added punch on the wing, where a little depth is going to put this team right back into Final Four territory.
