With the NBA Draft roughly a month away, DJ Burns Jr. is putting in extra work to ensure he can make an impact in the pros.

NBA insider Shams Charania revealed on Wednesday that Burns has dropped 45 pounds in less than two months.

“He was listed at 275 pounds when he finished the season. I saw him at the pro day yesterday. He looked totally different. I talked to him after,” Charania said. “DJ Burns told me he has lost 45 pounds in the last six and a half weeks. He said he’s doing cardio. He told me no Ozempic. He said he’s been doing workouts four days a week at 5 a.m.”

Charania then shared a photo of Burns’ new look. The talented big man has clearly slimmed down.

It’s unclear if Burns’ weight loss actually helps his draft stock.

Burns showcased his skillset in the NCAA Tournament with great performances against Oakland and Duke. Overall, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in his final season with the Wolfpack.

There was some chatter in April about NFL teams having interest in Burns, but he shot that possibility down.

Basketball fans will find out what’s next for Burns when the NBA Draft begins on June 26.
