NC State continues stocking up on versatile defensive players through the portal, picking up former Texas Tech edge rusher Joseph Adedire on Tuesday. Adedire missed all of 2024 because of injury, and will have two years of eligibility left.
Coincidentally, Adedire’s first college tackle came against NC State back in September of 2022, which was his second career game. The field at Carter-Finley was extra plush that night and he’s been thinking about it ever since*. He finished that season with 19 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss.
(*Likely untrue.)
In 2023, he saw time as an edge rusher and linebacker, and had 25 tackles with 4.0 TFL. Texas Tech’s website lists him at 6’3 and 265.
State has added several EDGE/LB types this spring as it transitions to a new defensive look under DJ Eliot. Defense remains a priority in general for, uh, obvious and unfortunate reasons.
